The final Star Wars prequel, 'Episode III: Revenge of the Sith' is due out in May but Star Wars fanatics world wide made today's premier of the trailer for the film a major event. The trailer will be seen in theaters before the showing of the new animated Pixar film, 'The Incredibles.' The most anticipated aspect of the new film is to see the final transition of Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader.

The trailer follows the extremely successful release of the original three films on DVD as part of a boxed set last month. The DVD set records for sales just after its release.

The trailer shows glimpses of the much anticipated battle between Anakin Skywalker and his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi which took place on a lava planet. Some quick cuts of space battles were also featured on the trailer. Natalie Portman's Padme is also shown wearing her hair in the bun style used by Carrie Fisher in the first film in 1977.

It's amazing that 27 years after the release of the first film, Star Wars remains such a phenomenon that the trailer for the sixth film in the series becomes an event, but people are still fascinated by things that happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away.
