Santy Worm Now Targets AOL and Yahoo

Just when you thought it was safe to log onto your computer...The santy worm, which was recently thwarted by Google, now has varients that will attack AOL and Yahoo's search engines.

The santy worm is still targeting Google, but that search engine took action to prevent the spread of the worm which erases and damages the text of bulliten board websites. Web surfers who use bulliten board websites can help spread the worm but will not be directly threatened by it.

'This can only be prevented with decent, secure coding,' said Kaspersky Labs. 'Every site [that uses PHP scripts] is potentially in danger.'

AOL uses Google's search technology and was investigating whether or not it needed to take additional action to prevent the spread of the worm or if Google's actions would be sufficient to stop the worm. Yahoo spokesmen could not be reached for comment.

As of now, the worm is still under control and experts are trying to make sure it does not spread.
