A California Jury today recommended that Scott Peterson be sentenced to death for the murder of his pregnant wife, Laci and the couple's eight month old fetus. He was convicted on November 12th of the crimes.

The jury had begun deliberations last week and spent 8 1/2 hours delibearting Peterson's fate before coming to a verdict just before lunch time today. Earlier today, the jurrors had requested to view evidence from the case a second time including aerial photographs of the area where the prosecutors say Peterson killed his wife and autopsy photos of Laci Peterson.

The final decision on Peterson's fate will be in the hands of the judge who will pronounce formal sentencing on February 25th. While the judge is not obligated to follow the jury's recommendation it is highly unlikely that he will deviate from it.
