There was no doubt as to what film ruled the box office this weekend as the star studded 'Ocean's Twelve' ran away with the most ticket sales by a large margin. The film, starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Catherine Zeta-Jones and a host of other top stars took in $40.9 million according to studio estimates.

The film had a bigger opening weekend than its predecessor, 'Ocean's Eleven' which had an opening weekend of $38.1 million.

Wesley Snipes' 'Blade: Trinity' opened in second place with a disappointing $16.1 for the weekend. The studio was hoping for closer to double that. The film, about a half-man, half-vampire played by Snipes opened on Wednesday and has taken in $24.6 million since it opened.

'National Treasure' fell to third place after holding on to the top spot for the past three weeks. It's weekend box office was estimated at $10 million. 'The Polar Express' finished fourth with $9.8 million as it continued to draw a steady if unspectacular following.

'Christmas with the Kranks' finished fifth followed by 'The Incredibles,' 'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie,' 'Closer' and 'Finding Neverland.' Oliver Stone's 'Alexander' finished a disappointing tenth for the week, drawing in just $1.4 million for the weekend. The three hour epic about the Macedonian dictator and general has taken in only $32.5 million in the three weeks since its release.
