Two fans involved in the brawl at last month's Pacers-Pistons game at the Palace in Auburn Hills have been banned from all events at the arena according to a spokesman for the Detroit Pistons.
John Green and Charlie Haddad will no longer be welcomed at the Palace for Pistons games or any other events such as concerts or shows. The ban will also include all events at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan which is owned by the same company that owns the Palace.
Green has been identified as the fan who threw a cup of beer at Ron Artest which set off the melee while Haddad has been identified as being on the court during the fracas. Neither Green or Haddad could be reached for comment.
No criminal charges have been filed yet as a result of the brawl which resulted in record suspensions for Ron Artest and other Pacers players although the Oakland County District Attorney's office said that charges will eventually be filed against both fans and Pacers players.
'It is obvious from the multitude of videotapes that numerous Pacer players and fans are implicated in criminal wrongdoing,' said prosecutor David Gorcyca in a statement. 'To issue charges in haste and before a thorough investigation is completed would be irresponsible and a dereliction of our duties.'
There is no word as to when the investigation will be completed.
