Chatting up to Newspaper Chicago Sun-Times, veteran comedian Dan Aykroyd chatted up about the good ol' times with his late buddy John Belushi, eventually revealing his desire to have a third go at the guy in shades.
"We might do it straight-to-DVD," he says. "I don't think we'd ever get the financing for another feature. Jimmy Belushi [John's brother] will play the heir to the throne of Albania in the next movie."
James, John Belushi's brother, perpetrated the act with Aykroyd for many public outings, even at the Super Bowl. When time came for "Blues Brothers 2000", Belushi was finally replaced by John Goodman, who also donned the black suit a few time in public with Elwood. The movie ended up with $2M shy of its $28M budget, and a host of disappointed fans.
So the question remains…is it necessary?
