The Consulate General of Mexico, Manuel Cosío Durán, proudly hosted a reception at the Montreal World Film Festival at Espacio México. The event was in honor of the film premiere “A Silent Love”. Honored at the event were Mexican film stars Vanessa Bauche and Susana Salazar, and Canadian actors Noel Burton and Maka Kotto who is currently a Federal Member of Parliament for the Bloc Quebecois.
Also at the reception was Diana Bracho, Jury Member at the MWFF, President of the Mexican Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences, Joelle Levie, Director General of SODEC, and Chris Barrett from the award winning Canadian Documentary 'The Corporation'. Barrett says, “[A Silent Love] was one of the finest films at the World Film Festival and is sure to be an international success.”

'A Silent Love' by
Federico Hidalgo continues its extensive and successful international film festival circuit by being showcased at the 2004 Montreal World Film Festival. The film made its Canadian Premiere at the World Film Festival Sunday Night. Canadian theatrical release will start in Montreal as of September 10, 2004. Vancouver (September 17) and Toronto (September 24) openings will precede a TIFF Film Circuit tour of the film across Canada this fall. A SILENT LOVE will open at the Quad Cinema in New York City on October 15, 2004 followed by openings in L.A., San Francisco, Chicago and Miami.

Amores Perros) who 'radiates a crackling intelligence and south-of-the-border spunk' [Variety], 'A Silent Love' is a love-triangle comic drama that unfolds both in Montreal and Mexico. The film has won two Best Screenplay awards, at the Brooklyn International Film Festival and the Miami Latin Film Festival, where Mexican discovery Susana Salazar picked up an Honorable Mention for her outstanding Performance.
