Rosario Dawson found herself in hot water on Sunday after wearing a black bandana over her face at a protest rally. She was arrested in New York while filming a scene for her latest movie. Dawson and other actors from “This Revolution” were at the protest in front of the Republican National Convention at Madison Square Garden.
The crew of the movie thought it would be fitting to use the army of protesters as a fitting backdrop for the movie, which is about a band of anarchists. Unfortunately, for this week, New York has instituted a law which does not allow protestors to hide their faces. Even though Dawson wasn’t involved in the protest, she was still seen by police officers.
The crew did have permission to film but this did not stop the police from hauling Dawson and several others into custody. Dawson was officially charged with disorderly conduct and will appear in court Nov. 9.
An estimated 200,000 people showed up at the protest. There were approximately 250 arrests, most for disorderly conduct.
