Vivendi Universal Games announced today that Sean Astin has joined the voice-over cast of its first-person action video game Men of Valor, a Vietnam War-themed video game. Men of Valor will be available on the Xbox video game system on October 26th. Astin voices the role of the novice radioman Pat Hodges, better know to the squad as 'Mouth.' Astin’s character speaks directly to the player, calling in fire and artillery support. 'I am thrilled to be a part of this game,' said Astin. 'It is obvious that the developers spent just as much time researching and developing the script as they did with the awesome graphics.' Astin is most famous as Samwise, Frodo’s faithful companion in the Lord of the Rings movies. Astin is part of a growing trend in which actors, rappers and singers are lending their talents to video games either by doing voice-overs or by contributing songs that will be released only on the games.
