“Exorcist: The Beginning,” a prequel to “The Exorcist” was re-shot a second time with a different director (the first version was not “scary” enough and had too much dialogue), comes in the number one spot this week with about 18.2 million in ticket sales.
”Without a Paddle” dives into the pond with $13.7 million. In its second week of release “Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” trips down to the number three spot with 13.2 million. “Alien Vs Predator” in its second week of release beats out the shark movie “Open Water” for the number 4 spot in its first week of a wide release. Tom Cruise’s “Collateral” has some hanging power with 10.5 million at this weekends box office to hold onto the number six spot. Rounding out the top ten is 'The Bourne Supremacy', 'The Manchurian Candidate', 'The Village', and the Sundance Award Winning film “Garden State.”
