At least 18 people are reported killed and over 100 wounded in a horrific bomb attack on Saturday at an opposition rally in Bangladesh's capital of Dhaka.

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed had just finished addressing the crowd when the blasts went off.

Her political party (Awami League) says the blasts were an assassination attempt on her.

She survived the attack with minor cuts on her hands.
