It was magic for 9 seasons and is his book. A must read for everyone!
We have chosen Ryan Aynes
as Elites TV's EliteStar for September/October 2006.
From the great state of Ohio, Ryan began his career as a video artist
while studying at The University of Toledo. While creating installations
and other various art projects, he spent time studying the greats like
Gary Hill and Nam June Paik, doing his best to build his talent and mold
his vision. He started his professional career as an assistant cameraman
working from commercial to commercial to help pay his way through college.
After proving his talent, he was given the opportunity to step
up and direct the commercials he was previously assisting on. He went on to
edit promos at PBS, learning the ropes of television production. In 2001 he
wrote, shot, directed, and edited his coveted senior thesis film Wallace’s Line
on a junkyard budget. That film gave Ryan the track record he needed to help
fund him onto his way to his first feature, Dress Rehearsal. In 2003, with the
help of good friend Don Money, he co-founded money raynz productions.
Ryan began production on Dress Rehearsal as producer, writer, editor,
and director.
Dress Rehearsal is premiering in New York City
at the "NewFilmmakers" screenings on October 18th.
We have chosen Daniel Smith of the Band Danielson
as Elites TV's EliteStar for August 2006.
Daniel Smith, the eldest sibling of five, closely-knit, brothers and sisters, has released music under a handful of different monikers since 1995. Originally creating “Danielson” as an art school project for his senior thesis, the idea quickly started to grow into the aptly named “Danielson Famile.”
In 2006 Danielson has returned with “Ships,” an album to resolve all things past. Opening his arms wider than ever, Daniel made a list of all the artists who have worked with him over the years. To that list, he added other folks whom he had made plans to work with at some point. His plan was to bring everyone together, to add to his new album. The creation of “Ships” led to working with family, making new friends, and keeping the old. All joined together - both the well-known (Deerhoof, Sufjan Stevens, Why?) and not as well-known artists (Serena Maneesh, Leopulde, Half-handed Cloud) - each brought his or her own skills and ideas to Daniel’s songs and voice, resulting in this crowning achievement. Not surprisingly, “Ships” became a massive project. Working with his friends, Danielson created so much music much of it could not fit into the full length album.
We have chosen The Honey Brothers
as Elites TV's EliteStar for June 2006.
The Honey Brothers play ukuleles, guitars, banjos, and sing 5-part
harmony, and have just released their album "Songs For Your Sister" on
I-Tunes, after 3 years playing clubs in New York. Paper Magazine calls
it “seriously good rock and roll”, while the Village Voice says the band
“manages to reference the country-tinged sensitivity of the Silver Jews,
the summery harmonies of the Beach Boys and the zany weirdness of Ween”.
They are one of the best live acts in New York, and their new video has
just been put up on MySpace. All of the band members have secret
lives--some as filmmakers, some as actors, some as doctors, and
sometimes they trade off.
H. HOYT HONEY - vocals, ukulele, recorder, melodica, piano, keys

are rejected. Every week Ben releases another batch of these rejected
jokes on the website rejectedjokes.com. If you want to see Ben perform
comedy that doesn't involve looking at a computer screen, come to the
Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Manhattan where he is a regular

We have chosen the band Golden State as Elites TV's EliteStar for March 2006.
*GOLDEN** **STATE*
For the past few years this artist has spawned records of timeless
classics and pushed the boundaries of emotional highs and lows. With the
release of the latest we find ourselves planted solidly with our feet on
the ground in pure confidence knowing we can and will do what ever it
takes to find love, joy, and hope!
JAMES GRUNDLER first came onto the scene with his critically acclaimed
rock band called PALOALTO. The band's two albums on American Recordings
were produced by the bearded beastie known as RICK RUBIN and gained the
respect of his peers such as ELTON JOHN, BONO, and SCOTT WIELAND.
With his stint of battling up hill and being in the wrong place at the
wrong time; James was forced into seclusion only to redefine his sound
that so many people have known and loved. Now, James is back with a new
lust for life and a gigantic sound that knows no boundaries... this is
the GOLDEN STATE.
