We learned from Endemol Productions this morning that the show Under One Roof has been canceled. He said that “the show had been pre-empted in 10 major markets.” I made a crack about March Madness, and how basketball takes precedence over any other reality.
It’s a shame. This was a fascinating show in many ways. We saw actual families interacting with each other. The show simulated actual social interaction on the screen. For example, Melissa Distel, the Distel daughter, had to learn to deal with social rejection. And the adorable Pagani girl dealt with a fear of spiders with the help of her dad.
We saw actual family values on this show. Our own reporter watched Under One Roof with her kids, and this has to be a first for any reality show. For the brief time it aired, Under One Roof was a breath of fresh air.
And now back to your regularly scheduled basketball. :)
