In a week of stunning moves including the use of the Power Of Veto, David Lane, the former Army Ranger from Florida and one-half of the first couple to have sex on the Big Brother U.S. version was voted out of the house.
Trouble began after Dana Varela won the coveted Head of Household position with its accompanying duty of nominating two people to be voted on for eviction. Turning on her former friends, the original seven members of the Big Brother House, Dana nominated the beauty queen from Pennsylvania, Allison Irwin, and the former FBI agent Jack Owens. Nathan Marlow, winning the seldom used Power of Veto, used it to take Allison off the chopping block. Dana, having to choose a replacement, chose David as the new sacrificial goat, with an eye on Nathan for future eviction.
The exes tried to cut a deal with David - offering him safety if he would agree to nominate Nathan if he were to win the Head of Household next. David, being no fool, agreed to this, however his true intentions were somewhat less than honorable. Dave knew his chances were slim, telling Julie Chen 'Once that happened, you have a strong player on the block. You have a chance to get rid of him. You gotta get him out of there no matter what.'
Jack in the meantime was trying to cut a deal for himself, with no takers.
The vote was not close - Erika and Allison vote for Jack, the rest vote to evict David - a 5-2 decision.
David, who had made Big Brother U.S. history with former housemate Amanda Craig by being the first couple to have sex in the house, expressed his interest in seeing Amanda again. This in spite of the fact some websites are reporting a passionate session between David and Allison before his eviction!
The coming week has more twists and turns as the nominated and saved Allison wins the Head of Household and a dispirited Dana dreads a revenge nomination.
