Though thought of as a pawn who had no chance of eviction by the Head of Household Jee Choe, Michelle Maradie, the 19 year old college student from Boca Raton, Florida and ex of David Lane, was evicted from the house with a stunning 6-2 vote. Michelle, the youngest member of a Big Brother cast, was considered by many viewers to be too young and vulnerable to be on the show.
Jee, who had won the honor of nominating Michelle and Erika Landin last Wednesday in the Head of Household competition was playing a serious game, placing Michelle against Erika with the plan of convincing the other houseguests to evict Erika. In his mind, the plan was firmly in place, even though David, who won the Power of Veto which allowed him to remove one of the nominees, tried to convince Jee to let him remove Erika to be replaced by Dana Varela - a more serious threat. Jee insisted that everyone stick to the original plan, which most followers of Big Brother know will almost ensure the opposite to happen. Jee - led on by Jack Owens, Nathan Marlow, and his 'secret alliance' partner Jun Song - was totally taken by surprise by the final talley.
After brief hugs and goodbyes, Michelle took the long walk to the studio for her post-eviction interview with Julie Chen. In tears, Michelle spoke with Julie about her belief she was safe, and that she was totally astonished by the final vote - even more so when she found out her ex, David, had voted against her. An emotional greeting by her father and brother closed out her time in the Big Brother house.
This week promises to be even more nerve-wracking as Dana grabs the coveted Head of Household status and puts two of her housemates on the chopping block.
